Mission/Vision
We, the members of, Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Incorporated®, aware of the prejudices and obstacles facing the minority women of our communities, dedicate ourselves to improving these conditions and to working towards the betterment of all women. We have unified ourselves through the sisterhood of Corazones Unidos Siempre and by our Founders’ ideals of open communication and community service, as well as the development of political, educational, cultural and social awareness. We devote ourselves to this challenge, to be achieved through hard work, patience and the collective effort to educate, as is exemplified in our motto, ‘Wisdom Through Education’.
Purpose
We commit ourselves to Educating, Elevating, and Empowering® all Women:
- To develop educational, cultural, political, and social awareness;
- To open lines of communications in order to service the community;
- To promote and preserve the Latino culture;
- To provide women with a choice among Greek letter sororities.
O.W.L.S. in C.U.S.
The Phi Chapter of Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc. is currently inactive at Texas A&M University. If interested in learning more about the organization and the process of joining, please email the Great Plains Regional Expansion Officer at [email protected] or stop by the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life in Koldus 224.
In an effort to help women familiarize themselves with our Sisters and Sisterhood, all undergraduate chapters have voluntary interest groups known as the “Organization of Women Looking for Sisterhood in Chi Upsilon Sigma”, or O.W.L.S. in C.U.S. The interest group is an official branch of our organization for women preparing to seek membership into Chi Upsilon Sigma. Because we consider our sisterhood to be a lifelong commitment, we encourage women to be sure that becoming a member of a sorority is for them.
